The Adventures of Being 30

Okay, so I got a little gun-shy about this whole blog thing last winter. Still not 100% sure, but it seemed that someone had found it who I really didn't want to read it. But, I promised some of my friends that I would make at least this entry, so here I am...

Long-time readers may remember that I kinda sorta dissed a certain local anchorman after seeing him downtown one Saturday night. He googled himself (hey, we all do it sometimes) a day or two later and proceeded to email me, asking why I wasn't really much of a fan. Also, he said next time I saw him downtown, I should introduce myself so he could buy me a drink and convince me that he's not such a bad guy afterall. Ever since, I keep running into him - but of course have never actually taken him up on this offer. Anyway, this has kind of turned into a source of amusement for my friends over the last year and a half or so. These friends and I were out celebrating my thirtieth birthday last night. It was very eventful, with highlights including an Elvis singing telegram, and a plan to have my picture taken with 30 different guys over the course of the night. On our way into the second bar of the evening, my friends begin to freak out loudly and I turn to find myself face to face with Mr. Anchorman. So of course my friends determine that it's necessary to have my picture taken with him, all the while one of them is yelling, "Don't introduce yourself," another one is poking me in the ribs, and another one is waving her hands on the air going, "Oh my god! Oh my God!" Yeah. So I fully expect this picture to never ever go away. I've actually been told that it will find a home on one or two of my friends' walls. Lovely.

So, Bruce Frisko, if you're reading this, you now know who I am: the red-faced girl all decked out in birthday regalia. Thanks for the photo op.
